Hello,

Welcome to the Balbriggan Educate Together National School Website. We are one of forty-four Educate Together schools nationally. We are a fully fledged National School under the auspices of the Department of Education and Science and teach the full National Curriculum. As an Educate Together school we are multi-denominational, co-educational, child-centred and democratically run. For more information on our school Philosophy please check out the selection of our School Policies.

Our school is a vibrant multicultural school. Our flagship competencies are Citizenship Education, Creativity in the Arts, Digital Learning, Sport and Environmental Education (School Development Plan). We have the highest academic aspirations for the children in the school and are committed to the full development of each child to his/her maximal potential (Assessment Toolkit). As you can see from our School Calendar our school year is  laid out to give emphasis to our flagship priorities with special months or weeks dedicated to Human Rights Education, Arts Week, Get Active Week  and Children-First  initiatives. In addition to this we supplement the school experience of the children with a comprehensive After-School Clubs Programme with the aim of complementing and enhancing the work of the school across the areas of Arts, Sport, Digital Learning and Citizenship Education. This After-School Programme also includes the availability Religious Education in Catholicism (including preparation for Sacraments), Islam and  any other religion  in conjunction with the school’s Parent Associations.

The school opened in September 2005 with Infant Classes and has now reached 3rd Class. We are a fully vertical school with two form entry to a maximum of sixteen classes. All children attending our school will be able to complete their full primary education with us from Junior Infants to 6th class. We are currently housed in a temporary building on our permanent site in Moylaragh (next door to Dunnes Stores). We have the assurances of the Department of Education and the Minister for Education that we will be housed in a multi-million euro state-of-the-art permanent building on this site by Spring Term of 2010.

Our dedicated teaching staff is committed to the care and education of all the children in the school. The teaching staff engages in continuous Career Professional Development in order to ensure their consistent best-practice in their classrooms and across the whole-school. The school is engaged in numerous established and pilot Professional Development programmes with St Patrick’s College of Education, Educate Together, Amnesty International, Department of Education and Science and Department of Foreign Affairs.

Please follow the links on the left-hand side of this page for further information on Enrolment, School Policies, What’s Going on in the school? and much more. Please feel free to contact the school if you have any further queries or observations.

Yours Sincerely
